Ban the Disco presents DIVIDE!

Ban The Disco are coming to Manchester THIS Thursday! The exciting Artist Management service from Brighton are teaming up with Music on a Sunday, a Manchester based blog; to put on a new gig night called DIVIDE. What better way to bring the North and South together than through indie rock music. The gig will take place at one of Manchester’s most loved and unique venue's, Jimmy’s in Northern Quarter.

The headline act for the night will be THRONE; an upcoming rock band from Brighton. With the release of their latest single, ‘Hush Now’, the band are currently on a promotional tour. The single manages to spin elements of classic rock, pop and R&B; making it a rich and spirited original. Taking inspiration from bands such as Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Wolf Alice and Black Honey; they are redefining what we consider rock 'n' roll to be.

The band also wrote a song called, 'Don't Touch Me' in response to sexual harassment at gigs. The front woman, Charane Armatey, has actively taken a strong stance by raising awareness and educating people about this behaviour before their performances. THRONE advocate for people to feel safe and secure at their gigs; wanting everyone to enjoy themselves at concerts without feeling threatened or intimidated. THRONE are a strong and liberating band, that you don't want to miss.

THRONE will be supported by local Manchester alternative bands, Plant Food and Sour Punch. Plant Food are an arty indie band, that are free and lighthearted with their music. Noisy and fiery tones, and a trippy aesthetic - the band are undeniably bold in their own right.

Sour Punch are the daring, cheeky chaps of the Manchester indie-rock scene. The three-piece are never afraid to experiment and go against the tide. Combining intricate melodies with unruly punk rhythms, the band create an eccentricity that is hard not to fall for. Their hilarious, flirtatious nature (with each other) and animated tunes, make their live sets very entertaining.

Make sure to get down to Jimmy's on the 24th of January!
