WHEN IN MANCHESTER ONE-DAY MUSIC FESTIVAL

RETURNS TO NORTHERN QUARTER VENUES

ON SATURDAY 20TH APRIL 2019.

LINE UP ANNOUNCED WITH HEADLINERS BLOXX,

HUSKY LOOPS AND BLANKETMAN.

Manchester’s highly anticipated one day festival is returning for its fourth year in a row. This April, ‘When In Manchester’, will take over the bustling independent venues of the characterful Northern Quarter. New comers and the usual festival goers will overflow Oldham Road; switching between Night and Day, Gullivers and The Castle to see a variety of artists.

The people behind the ever growing festival; Miriam Rahimov and Ellen Offredy, are a credit to women event organisers. They have continuously brought Manchester phenomenal, rising artists and bands each year. Deservingly, WIM was nominated for two awards at the UK Festival Awards 2018. Also, obtaining a place on the short list for the category of, ‘Best Small Festival’. The strength and hard work put into this wonderful day of music; will be sure to pay off, as WIM will no doubt continue to thrive and win countless awards in the future.

Not only does WIM have strong female managers, it also has many female artists on the line up. One of the organisers, Miriam Rahimov stated; “We are thrilled to be returning with another exciting and incredibly talented line-up for When In Manchester! We are proud to be one of the many grassroots festivals striving to make better gender representation the norm in the live music industry.” The core of this festival is to showcase new, underground artists; while shattering preconceived stereotypes of female musicians. It is making sure all artists have an amazing opportunity, while ensuring they are equally valued and respected for their work. Blanketman, Valeras, Crying Beauty Queens and Julia Bardo; only to name a few of the astounding acts that will include women musicians on the day.

The headliners for the day are sure to grab your attention and make you dying to get a ticket. The charmingly, laid-back BLOXX are set to headline. Their tracks have been described as, “indie pop bliss” by Dork. Their presence has been complimented, as “wonderfully natural” by Clash Magazine. Their live performances are an indie lovers heaven. Also, headlining will be the laid back and unapologetic, Blanketman. They are bringing Manchester's love "of restless-leg post-punk" back to the city. However, adding a haunting and contemporary touch, making their music relevant. AND, of course, the quirky and experimental 3-piece, Husky Loops will also be the third headline for the night. They will be gracing the stage with their love-able chaos.

This year the festival is in association with Fred Perry, 13 Hop House Lager, BIMM Manchester and Skiddle.
